be quiet! Shadow Base 800: A new case with a focus on airflow

be quiet! has introduced the new Shadow Base 800 at Computex 2023. This midi-tower case is available in three versions: the standard variant, the DX model and the FX model. The differences lie in the RGB lighting: the standard variant has no RGB lighting, the DX model has a subtle RGB strip and the FX model offers extensive RGB lighting. While the standard model is only available in black, the DX and FX models also come in white.

.The Shadow Base 800 features an open design that allows for high airflow. In the front, there is a large mesh grille that provides a good supply of fresh air. The white model is all white, including the USB ports, case-side cables, and even the fan hub PCB on the FX model.

Inside the Shadow Base 800, there is room for motherboards up to E-ATX form factor. There are seven expansion slots that can be rotated 90 degrees for vertical GPU installation. There is room for graphics cards up to 430mm, and there is a full-length PSU cover for a tidy interior. For storage drives, there are 4x 2.5″ and 2x 3.5″ slots, and there is further room for additional drives.

Depending on the model, the Shadow Base 800 features 3x Pure Wings 3 140 mm 1,200 rpm (normal and DX) or 4x Light Wings 140 mm PWM fans (FX). A total of up to 8 fans can be installed in the front, lid, rear and bottom. For water cooling, up to 420 mm radiators can be accommodated in the front and lid. All key locations are equipped with a removable dust filter.

The be quiet! Shadow Base 800 will be available in early September. Prices start at 149.90 euros MSRP for the standard model, the Shadow Base 800 DX costs at least 164.90 euros MSRP and the Shadow Base 800 FX is available from 199.90 euros MSRP.
